We run our Melbourne, Port Phillip Bay and southern coast fishing charters from Carrum, Mornington, St Kilda and Rye. Over in Westernport, we depart from Hastings, Stony Point and Corinella.

Our aim is simple: a safe, relaxed and professional fishing charter for Melbourne locals and visitors who love getting out on the water. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned angler, you'll feel right at home aboard.

We target a wide range of species, including snapper, kingfish, King George whiting, flathead, squid, gummy sharks and elephant sharks - and head out of Portland for bluefin tuna in season. Whether you're chasing snapper in Port Phillip Bay or bluefin tuna off Victoria's southern coast, our promise is to work hard to give you a true fish-of-a-lifetime experience, and a fun, enjoyable and memorable day on the water.

Our Minimum Fishing Charter Group Size is 8 with a maximum group size of 12 people on our full wakaround vessel so everyone can fish freely.
However additional vessels are available so Pro Red Fishing Charters can cater for even larger fishing groups to 20 people.

Meet Captain
Jayson Turner

Captain Jayson Turner brings more than 51 years of fishing experience to every charter and holds a Master 5 qualification. Having spent decades fishing Melbourne's bays and Victorian offshore waters, Jayson knows where the fish are and how to give anglers the best chance of landing a memorable catch.

Jayson was originally from Tasmania fishing from the age of 5 catching various saltwater and freshwater fish and diving from the age of 7 for Crayfish and Abalone

Over the years, Pro Red Fishing Charters has helped clients catch some impressive fish, including snapper exceeding 10.8kg in Port Phillip Bay and over 9kg in Western Port, kingfish over 11kg, gummy sharks to 25kg, and southern bluefin tuna ranging from 8kg to an incredible 111kg off Portland.

Whether you're targeting snapper, king george whiting, squid, salmon, kingfish, sharks, or southern bluefin tuna, Jayson combines local knowledge, experience, and a passion for fishing to deliver an enjoyable and rewarding day on the water.

Casual and down to earth people who were easy to have a conversation and a joke with. Got a good feed of trevally which were fun to catch on light gear, few small pinkies, yellowtail and a couple of gummies. Got a really nice size 7giller which they were thoroughly excited by which was released. I will be booking to go out with Pro Red again.

We booked the whole boat, a mixture of kids ages 7-16 and a few adults. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Jayson was great- very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and accommodating. We will be recommending to friends and family and look forward to going out with them again in the not to distant future. Smiles all round and big thumbs up from all 12 of us. Thanks guys!!
